Definition of Health in Ayurveda
Samadosha, samagnischa samadhatumalakriyaha prasanna atmenindriya Manaha swasthya ityabhidheeyate!

Let's breakdown the meaning of each of the above words
Samadosha
There are three Doshas that are present in the body and mind, namely Vata, Pitta and Kapha. The balanced state of these Doshas helps keep a person healthy. When these Doshas are in an imbalanced state, either aggravated or decreased it produces a state of Dosha Vaishamya, which is called disease.
Samagni
In order to keep an individual healthy and digestive fire and dhatuagni (tissue enzymes) must be in a proper state. When Agni is less it will lead to various diseases. It is a well known fact that the health of an individual is decided by the strength of his digestive power.
Sama Dhatu Mala Kriya (balanced state of dhatus and malas)
According to Ayurveda there are seven Dhatus namely Rasa, Rakta, Mamsa, Medas, Asthi, Majja and Shukra.
Three main Waste products or Malas – Purisha (feces), Mutra (urine), Sweda (sweat).
Balanced functioning of Seven body Tissues and Three wastes is a must to achieve the desired state of health and wellbeing.
Prasanna Atmendriya Manaha
In Ayurveda the functions of the Sensory and Motor organs and Mind are of great importance.
As we are well aware of importance of mental health and its effect on the physical health of a person and vice versa
Ayurveda had established this fact Thousands of years ago and it's emphasis has always been on "Holistic Health & Wellbeing" . A balanced and happy state of Heart, Mind, Sensory &Motor organs decide the health of a person.
Swastha
A well balanced Constitution, Attractive appearance, Good Muscular strength and Peace of Mind are fulfilled when all the above factors are taken care of .
That is when a person achieves a state of "Health & Wellbeing"

A good state of health can be maintained until the last breath of our lives by following the guidelines as per Ayurveda. Ayurveda helps a person to enjoy an optimum life span of a hundred years without contracting disease.
Socially, gaining recognition in society, honor and wealth as you gain the energy and ability to achieve all the goals in life.
The aim of this "Science of Life : Ayurveda" is to Prevent Illness, Heal the person suffering from an illness or Misery and Protect & Preserve life.
Svasthasya Svasthya Rakṣaṇaṃ, Aturasya Vikara Prashamanam!

1. Swasthyas swasthya rakshanam – to protect health and prolong life 2. Aturasya vikar prashamanam– to eliminate diseases and dysfunctions of the body
